Terrigal promo day

I don’t think we could have picked a better day to be down on the beach handing out free sangas and pamphlets.
The sun was shining, the people were smiling and we were there spreading the word about the launch of our church.
we got snobbed a few times – but most of the people cruizing by were happy to take a brochure and hear about our new saturday night venture.

We had some good chats asking what locals think about the needs of the central coast, religion and spirituality. The general vibe was that ‘the church’ is a bit stale and needs to connect with real people better and be more authentic.
As we start trying to “reach coastal people for Christ” its important that we understand the way coastal people think otherwise we’ll struggle to connect with them, and connect them to Jesus.

  1. Terrigal promo day reminded me that we get to live in a beautiful place, but also with some great local people. What a fantastic community we are in. I have to admit being a little nervous about giving out the snags and flyers, partly because I know if people bail me up with a sales pitch I am in a hurry to get away. I was glad that our crew wasn’t approaching it that way – just trying to be a friendly face and giving the info with a free feed and no pressure. Thanks for the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone. I really hope people will come check us out. Saturday EV is great!

  2. I loved watching the video and slide show of SaturdayEV. You all looked so relaxed and approachable. I like the way you included what local people said – all very natural. Music was great too. Cant wait till Sat night.
